Hands-on science education that delights, challenges, and encourages kids? The Discovery Science Foundation has made a positive difference in thousands of lives for 35 years. The foundation achieves this goal through four core initiatives: STEM proficiency, early childhood education, healthy living, and environmental stewardship. These future-forward initiatives inspire educators, their students, and all of us committed to learning for life.

Our original center in Orange County, as well as our newer Los Angeles and Newport Beach campuses, gives those seeking immersive, interactive science activities a way to jump into the learning fun. In addition to our campuses, educational outreach programs remain a major part of our mission. Bringing a host of experiences directly to learners is essential to achieving the foundation’s core initiatives. It’s a mission that also includes empowering real-world application by giving learners a chance to make a difference. This vision has made the foundation a prominent advocate for modern science education over the years. Spotlighting science as a solution and as a force for good is what the Discovery Science Foundation so successfully does.

Discovery Cube thanks all of our supporters and visitors for helping us continue to offer interactive, science based programs and make a real world connection between students, educators and STEM.

Does your child love animals and want to know more about what makes them unique? This camp allows campers a chance to journey through our summer exhibit “Wild Kratts: Creature Power!” to learn more about the animals that inhabit our planet in addition to understanding what makes specific animals special by learning about their creature powers and adaptations. Discover animals that live around you and some that can be found around the world while getting up close and personal with animal ambassadors provided by Wildlife Waystation. Try to run like a cheetah, dissect an owl pellet, find out how polar bears can live where it is freezing, and more!

Extended Drop Off and Pick Up Times: 8:00am-9:00am and 4:00am-5:00 pm (No Additional Cost)

Prepare for an adventure: getting to and living on Mars! Campers will explore the engineering process by designing a rocket ship to start their journey. Campers will then create a Martian Lander to get them safely on the ground. Test ways to survive the harsh Martian environment, gather resources needed to survive, and create a rover that can speed through alien terrain! In collaboration with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the Discovery Cube has designed a week of excitement and learning for campers that is sure to be out of this world!

Extended Drop Off and Pick Up Times: 8:00am-9:00am and 4:00am-5:00 pm (No Additional Cost)

Calling all budding computer scientists: Code Constructing camp needs you! Campers will learn all about computers, from circuitry to programming, as they experiment with programming software and alter the real world through physical computing. By constructing text based programs, campers will create their own games and digital art. With just a few clicks, the world of Minecraft will unfold as campers learn how to create code for a special version of this popular sandbox video game. To pull all their new skills together, campers will build a sensor-based prototype and operate it with their own unique codes. By the end of camp, coding will become as easy as Pi.

Extended Drop Off and Pick Up Times: 8:00am-9:00am and 4:00am-5:00 pm (No Additional Cost)

Did Code Constructors camp leave your young programmer wanting more? In Code Constructors 2: The Next Dimension campers will get introduced to more advanced computing software while building on the skills developed in the introductory Code Constructors camp. A split between physical computing and coding, campers will become familiar with programs used by professionals in the technology industry. Design and render a 3-D simulation using animation software, generate a product to be created in a 3-D printer, program your own app to be used on a phone instantly, and more! Available only to those who have completed the week of Code Constructor: An Exploration to the Raspberry Pi camp, space is limited.
