Preschoolers are just beginning to form healthy habits. Exploring teeth, dentists, and related topics helps them begin to understand the importance of caring for themselves. They can also begin to learn about the people in the community who help with dental care. So we made some crafts that go along with it.

This DIY idea is perfect for a dental themed craft in the classroom, a make and take for a dental office or even just a fun craft to do with the kids this afternoon!

Popsicle Stick Toothbrushes Craft Supplies:

* Jumbo Popsicle Sticks * Various Colors of Craft Paint * Paint Brushes * White Cardstock * Kid Friendly Scissors * School Glue

* bedazzle pieces

* First have children paint their popsicle stick {toothbrush handle} any color they like!!! Just like in real life – toothbrushes can come in many colors and designs! Set aside to let it dry completely. * Next is the bristles! Grab some white cardstock and cut out a small rectangular. Go ahead and make small slits all along the side to represent the “brush” aspect. * To finish off the Popsicle Stick Toothbrushes – glue your white cardstock piece in place. Then let it dry completely before displaying proudly!!!

* Then glue on some bedazzle pieces for more fun. * You can have children write their name on the toothbrush handle!
